Hi Friends, It has been seven years since I put a baby registry together and let me say, things have changed! With my first child, I was pretty clueless and registered and bought so many things. It turned out to be a lot of wasted money. This time I've leaned on past experience and advice from other moms. I am taking a much more minimalistic approach. Disclaimer: Each parent and child is different. What works for me, may not work for you. Our budgets may be different and our views may differ as well. There is no right or wrong. I am just posting the closest things to what was on my registry or what I have bought. Some of this I used successfully with my first child, and some I am wanting to try out. This is also mainly directed for newborns and the few months thereafter to keep the list from being too long. I am also huge on researching, but I recommend do some researching for yourself. Almost exactly a year ago today, we bought our first house. Something I had dreamt about for so many years! My own little sanctuary to be the introverted homebody in my soul. Of course I was eager to paint, furnish and decorate too. We bought a renovated cottage from the late 80's. Since it was a recent flip, there were no major changes to the bones of the house. One of the first things we did after buying the house was extending the back porch slab. Best decision ever!(my husband was right, but don't tell him I said so!) We also painted an accent wall black and shiplapped a small wall. I almost immediately changed out 3 light fixtures and put ceiling fans in the upstairs rooms where there were just flush mounts.
